Beach Wedding Planning: Part 2 – The Weather
Beach wedding planning is very unpredictable. The weather can change dramatically with very little warning. Therefore when you are planning six months ahead of time, make sure you prepare for the lighting and weather obstacles a wedding at the beach would comprise of.
Weather is the biggest consideration when beach wedding planning. The actual weather you cannot control, but by making some adjustments you may have better odds. Once you have picked your venue you must set your wedding date. If you are planning a beach wedding in California your best bet would be during the summer, however if your dream wedding venue is in Florida you may want to opt for the winter or spring. You will want to do some research and find out what is your locations dry season and plan accordingly. If Mother Nature decides to not cooperate on the day of your vows, make sure to have a plan for it. Some venues will have facilities close by such as banquet halls or restaurants that cater to events. You may want to speak to the locations coordinator to see if these would be available in case the weather is unsuitable to say your I do’s outdoors. Otherwise don’t underestimate a nice sized tent. These days wedding tents can be made into incredibly elegant looking structures and will keep your guests out of the rain. Make sure to get some price quotes on a tent and see how long in advance it would need to be ordered, just in case of an emergency.
When you are beach wedding planning you will have to also remember the tides before picking your ceremony time. Tides can creep up very quickly and the last thing you want is to stop your wedding ceremony to move up the beach. To avoid this you will want to pick a part of the beach that is not affected by the tides. This would also be more beneficial than being closer to the water because if the tide was up the night before you would be walking down the aisle on wet sand.
