Beach Wedding Planning: Part 4 – Music, Food, and Favors

If you are planning a beach wedding chances are you want the ambiance to match.  Beach weddings are fun, carefree, and typically casual events.  Here are some ideas and tips to consider when beach wedding planning for the music, food, and wedding favors.

In a traditional wedding, typically organ music would assist the bride and attendants down the aisle.  But when beach wedding planning, this is not very practical, and it would also take away from the casual beach ambiance.  My favorite beach music is from steel drum bands.  Whether live or pre recorded, these reagea tunes will give you optimum beach ambiance.  This is especially popular for tropical beach weddings.  However, you may also want to choose a soloist, violinist, or walk down the aisle to the musings of the ukulele for Hawaiian themed weddings. The food you serve at your reception can also reflect your casual beach wedding.  When beach wedding planning consider that your food should be light, and probably finger foods.  Fruit shish kabobs are my favorite because they add a ton of color, they are easy to eat, and they are easy on the budget.  Also consider using seafood to bring in your beach theme.  Fish tacos are always popular. For a more gourmet meal, consider serving seared ahi or salmon as these are very popular dishes your guests are sure to enjoy.  A sushi bar may be a fun and trendy addition to your menu as well.

Also consider when beach wedding planning to have some beach wedding favors for your guests to take home.  Consider some beach themed candles that will also provide lighting during your reception.  Rubber flip flops would be adorable to give to your guests and would encourage them to get into the casual beach spirit.  Or consider colorfully frosted sugar cookies in the shape of shells or sea life.  These would brighten up the tables and provide dessert for your guests!
