Tips to Planning a Simple Beach Wedding
One reason that so many brides are turning to beach side nuptials is because they wish to have a small and intimate ceremony. A Simple beach wedding can be planned with very short notice and it allows you to have a dream wedding on a shoe string budget. Here are a few tips to keeping your simple beach wedding costs to a minimum!
1. Skip the expensive wedding shoes! In true simple beach wedding tradition you can choose to go barefoot or some simple beach flip flops. For an extra elegant touch make sure to dress up your feet! Beautiful anklets and toe rings make an elegant touch as well as professionally pedicured toes. Or you can get a henna tattoo the day of the wedding for a truly unique touch.
2. You’re simple beach wedding can be as extravagant or as minimal as you want it. If you’re on a tight budget you may want to consider having a smaller wedding. A beach wedding can be as simple as you, your groom, two witnesses and someone to marry you. Some brides also opt to only have couple people at their ceremony and then a reception at a bar or restaurant with all other friends and family.
3. Think about your wedding favors. While wedding favors are a fun tradition they are not essential when planning a simple beach wedding. While wedding favors are not necessary, if your heart is set on giving something away consider something simple. Consider home baked sugar cookies in nautical shapes such as shells or star fish. Or consider homemade candles or Jordan almonds in a satin or an organza pouch all of which you can purchase at your local craft store.
4. If you are truly on a shoestring budget, consider a total DIY wedding. If you or a friend is an excellent baker consider baking your own cake. Make your own bouquets by ordering flowers on the internet or preordering from Costco. You can also ditch the DJ and download all your favorite wedding songs on you IPod. You may want to designate someone to cue the first dance song, money dance, father daughter dance, ect, but you could put the rest on shuffle and dance the night away!
